Happy Daylight Savings Time :)

I love this time of year.  The clocks move forward and my daylight is longer.
Makes me really happy.

Life is keeping me busy.  We are busy starting to redo our kitchen and other areas of the house.  So each night I will be busy taking wallpaper off.  This should be a bit of an upper body workout!

I am in the gym each day killing the workouts.  But have had a bit of trouble with my clean eats.  I really am good about 80% of the time but then hubby wants to go out to eat mexican food. Ugh!!!  However, he said today that he is on a new workout/eating plan and no more mexican food for awhile.  Yeah!!
I have a trip to St. John, USVI at the end of May.  Gotta get this body swimsuit ready.

I am blessed to have been featured on The Eat Clean website success stories.  That was a very cool honor.  I have always been a huge fan of Tosca Reno and have everyone of her books.  You to can be a success story.

This next week:
Mon - legs
Tue - shoulders
Wed- back, abs
Thur - arms, cardio
Fri - legs
Sat - run with my girlfriends
Sun - off day - family time

Lets get rolling for a great spring this year.
See you soon,
Teresa

Spring or bust!

I am so ready for the springtime. I have enough of this cold and ice!

I am 15 weeks and 3 days till my vacation to St. John. I am treating this time as if it were a competition I was preparing for and not just a vacation. I want to look and feel my best when we leave.

I will be blogging my journey. I do still have times that I can revert back to old habits. Having had weight issues all my life, sometimes it can be a struggle. I hope that I can encourage everyone going through their own journey to keep you strong and get the results you want.

Today was a home workout due to ice once again. I did shoulders, chest and triceps. I added in some abs and finished off with 20 min HIIT treadmill work. It was a great workout and felt good to get this body going.

One of my struggles is learning to cook good food. I get tired of chicken plain everyday :)
I have pulled out my Clean Eating cookbooks and Eat Clean magazines to find new, yummy meals.

Let's get swimsuit ready together! It is a perfect time to get started. I am hear for you. I will tell it like it is, whether it is a great week or maybe I had some struggles to overcome.

Let's get this party started!

Happy Superbowl Sunday!!!

So far it is an awesome day in Arlington, Texas.  I can only hope it stays this way.
What are your plans for today?
I got my cardio done this morning so that I could enjoy my day and not have to worry about doing it later.
Right now my workouts have been great but my eating less than stellar (75%) this past week.  I am dealing with my hormones playing a role in my moods and a few other things.
So I thought over the next weeks, I will blog about whats going on.
I am in the midst of menopause I know that some of my issues are related.
Stay tuned.  I want you to enjoy your day and I will be back here in the next couple of days as I begin my journey again to be Buff at 50.  Sixteen weeks and counting til I am a fit and buff lady on the beaches of St. John.
Talk to you soon.

Life is good!

I love that saying "life is good", because it is and we need to remember that every day.
I have the most caring family and very supportive in everything I do.
Whether I am training for a marathon or just my regular workout schedule I know I can count on hubby's support and that is important to me.

I have had trouble with my weight all my life until I said no more on January 2, 2006. I will never forget that first step. I will never forget all my trials and tribulations along the way. I still have to be careful because sometimes those old tapes try to creep up and get me.
I will never return to the sad women I once was. I realize now that I must eat to live and not live to eat :)

From 5-6 days a week I will do something for my health. It can be weight training, some interval cardio or just walks with my husband and dogs.

I also keep chicken, extra lean turkey, eggs, Laura's lean beef and fish cooked up each week so I can grab and go. It is always helpful to have things easy and healthy to grab and go. Keep your veggies, fruits and healthy carbs (brown rice, sweet potatoes, etc) in the house as well.

"He who fails to plan, plans to fail"

This weekend make a plan of attack, get your kitchen stocked up and plan your week. For the ladies go to Buffmother.com and check out our 10 week Super Star Success contest. What a great way to keep you on track and help hold you accountable. It's all about the plan.

Have a great weekend.

How is your new year going???

Have you been getting your workouts in?  How is your nutrition going?

I am not going to call it a diet because to me that is a 4 letter word :)  It is something I deal with everyday and even ever hour of each day.
Some days are just perfect and then other days they are not so good.
I can get really crazy measuring and weighing my food only to find me getting stressed over what I am supposed to eat and how much each day.  It can make me not such a fun person to be around.

I have had some stress with taking care of my husband since his ACL replacement surgery last week.  He is so strong and tough and it is hard to keep him from doing to much to quick.
When I get stressed I can have blt's (bite, licks and tastes) and these can add up rather quickly.
So again, I start each day fresh and hope that this day is maybe just a bit cleaner than the day before.  I will however allow myself some of my favorite things in life.  I am 50 years old and I am going to enjoy my life.

So this week has been great workouts. My intensity is way high and I am pushing myself a little further each workout.
Monday was leg day, Tuesday was back and bi's, Wednesday is kickboxing, Thursday is shoulders, chest and tri's and to finish off my week I will do a spinning class either Friday or Saturday. It is a wonderful week and I will enjoy each minute of everyday.

Stay strong, healthy and happy this week.

New year, new me!

2011 has started off with a bang. I am busting at each workout. Focusing on each muscle as I work it. Making that muscle mind connection. Build, build and build.

Monday was legs, today was back and bi's. I was huffing and puffing and really got my heart rate going. I have kicked it up a notch in the workouts and the eats. It's amazing how much better I feel with the clean eating.

So this year is about working on building my best body ever. Last year I had some great results and I hope to continue in this fashion this year. I have lots of goals - several trips to the beach and hopefully another photoshoot. That was so fun to do this year and it really helped me push myself to look the best I can.

I hope to share my journey and dreams all along the way with each and everyone of you.
This year - next December my son will graduate from TCU and commission in the Army. My son in law will be heading to Afghanistan in April with the Marines. My daughter and son in law will get to come home in March before he deploys. I can't wait to see them. My other son is tearing up the roadways as a new driver.

I am so thankful for my health and the ability to share with everyone my journey because I am just like you. I have great days and sometimes weak days.

Let's rock 2011!

Christmas just flew by.....

It is a crazy time of year.  I have been gone for the last week visiting my in-laws in Morecambe, England.  I had a great time but boy does time fly by.
I am getting everything ready for the new year.  My goals for 2011.  I am working on figuring out exactly what I want for this coming year.  Is it a figure competition, another photo shoot or build muscle and live the fitness lifestyle while helping others change their bodies?
What are you goals for the New Year?
I try not to say resolutions but goals.  I think we work harder towards our goals and in the meantime we reach what might have been a resolution.
Now that the New Year is fast approaching I must get myself back into my workout mode.  The week off was nice but I am ready to hit hard in the gym.
We have new Bowflex weights along with so much equipment at home that even if I can't get to the gym I have no excuse not to get a workout in.
One of my goals is to be more regular on her and hopefully I can motivate you to keep working out.
Lets finish 2010 strong!!!!   I am here with you.
