Life is good!

I love that saying "life is good", because it is and we need to remember that every day.
I have the most caring family and very supportive in everything I do.
Whether I am training for a marathon or just my regular workout schedule I know I can count on hubby's support and that is important to me.

I have had trouble with my weight all my life until I said no more on January 2, 2006. I will never forget that first step. I will never forget all my trials and tribulations along the way. I still have to be careful because sometimes those old tapes try to creep up and get me.
I will never return to the sad women I once was. I realize now that I must eat to live and not live to eat :)

From 5-6 days a week I will do something for my health. It can be weight training, some interval cardio or just walks with my husband and dogs.

I also keep chicken, extra lean turkey, eggs, Laura's lean beef and fish cooked up each week so I can grab and go. It is always helpful to have things easy and healthy to grab and go. Keep your veggies, fruits and healthy carbs (brown rice, sweet potatoes, etc) in the house as well.

"He who fails to plan, plans to fail"

This weekend make a plan of attack, get your kitchen stocked up and plan your week. For the ladies go to Buffmother.com and check out our 10 week Super Star Success contest. What a great way to keep you on track and help hold you accountable. It's all about the plan.

Have a great weekend.

Teresa

How is your new year going???

Have you been getting your workouts in?  How is your nutrition going?

I am not going to call it a diet because to me that is a 4 letter word :)  It is something I deal with everyday and even ever hour of each day.
Some days are just perfect and then other days they are not so good.
I can get really crazy measuring and weighing my food only to find me getting stressed over what I am supposed to eat and how much each day.  It can make me not such a fun person to be around.

I have had some stress with taking care of my husband since his ACL replacement surgery last week.  He is so strong and tough and it is hard to keep him from doing to much to quick.
When I get stressed I can have blt's (bite, licks and tastes) and these can add up rather quickly.
So again, I start each day fresh and hope that this day is maybe just a bit cleaner than the day before.  I will however allow myself some of my favorite things in life.  I am 50 years old and I am going to enjoy my life.

So this week has been great workouts. My intensity is way high and I am pushing myself a little further each workout.
Monday was leg day, Tuesday was back and bi's, Wednesday is kickboxing, Thursday is shoulders, chest and tri's and to finish off my week I will do a spinning class either Friday or Saturday. It is a wonderful week and I will enjoy each minute of everyday.

Stay strong, healthy and happy this week.

New year, new me!

2011 has started off with a bang. I am busting at each workout. Focusing on each muscle as I work it. Making that muscle mind connection. Build, build and build.

Monday was legs, today was back and bi's. I was huffing and puffing and really got my heart rate going. I have kicked it up a notch in the workouts and the eats. It's amazing how much better I feel with the clean eating.

So this year is about working on building my best body ever. Last year I had some great results and I hope to continue in this fashion this year. I have lots of goals - several trips to the beach and hopefully another photoshoot. That was so fun to do this year and it really helped me push myself to look the best I can.

I hope to share my journey and dreams all along the way with each and everyone of you.
This year - next December my son will graduate from TCU and commission in the Army. My son in law will be heading to Afghanistan in April with the Marines. My daughter and son in law will get to come home in March before he deploys. I can't wait to see them. My other son is tearing up the roadways as a new driver.

I am so thankful for my health and the ability to share with everyone my journey because I am just like you. I have great days and sometimes weak days.

Let's rock 2011!
